A Glorious Goodbye to 2010!

This is a whole new look for my blog! It was created using Beth Rimmer's L'Esprit du Cirque kit, available at Deviant Scrap. I created it especially as a place for my scrapbook pages as I participate in Tangie Baxter's Art Journal Caravan in 2011. This is going to allow me to experience a year of incredible growth - and WRITING!!! If you're interested in checking out the Tangie's Art Journal Caravan, see it here:

Pay no attention to the entries (what few there are) below this one. I'm chagrined to say that since 2006 when I formed this blog, I've made a total of 15 entries. I'd like to challenge myself to double that number by the end of January - at LEAST!

2010 has been a good year. Lots of good stuff happened, my health has been pretty stable, and I've enjoyed the incredible love of my magnificent husband and children every day. We have a very peaceful house here - no fighting no biting - and I think we all thrive in this atmosphere. I admit I have a very selective memory, but right now only one thing stands out as a negative event for this year, and that one isn't even a big deal.

So, 2011 is the year we've all been waiting for! This is the year we will thrive, grow, shine, love, make new friends, keep the old, learn, laugh, cry....pick a verb as long as it's positive and you can insert it in my list. I am planning a real YEAR TO REMEMBER in 2011, won't you join me?

So one of the challenges in Tangie's Art Journal Caravan is to pick a word as a goal for the year, and mine is "write." I can do this however, wherever, no need to make my goal the great American novel by year's end. The Art Journal Caravan will give me a push in that direction. I also plan to participate in Project 365 this year, so there's another opportunity. I always thought that if I had a laptop, I'd have the tool I needed to write and write - well, instead I've had constant excuses since I got it in April. But I will embrace this theme this year, and I will write.

Having the theme to WRITE is the goal for the year, but it does not replace my life's theme of LOVE. I love you all, every one of you who read this blog and even those who don't. Love is the answer, the glue that keeps us all together.

And then of course there's LIVING OUT LOUD - my mantra for my life. "If you asked me why I came into this world, I will tell you...I came to live out loud." (Emile Zola) I plan to seek out every opportunity to live out loud in the year 2011 - especially since the world is going to end in 2012...LOL! Which I do NOT believe, by the way.

Here's one of the ways that I'm starting the year with Living Out Loud. Most of the people in Tangie's Caravan are traveling by camel, certainly a wonderful and traditional form of transportation for a Caravan. But my camel and I didn't work out so well last year, so this year I've decided to travel by elephant - you can see my elephant named Jellie in my blog header. I love elephants, and I know we will make it to the end together, having both grown tremendously.

So, buh-bye 2010, and a glorious HELLO to 2011!!! May this be the best year of our lives!!!
