Don't Let September Go By Unnoticed!

Wow, it's a good thing I decided to peek in here today, otherwise I would have gone the whole month of September with no posts!  Obviously I haven't been here much in September, wonder why that is?

Today is a bit of a sad day. Mom's dog Cameron is going to doggie heaven today. He has been a cherished member of her family for several years, being rescued from a puppy mill by Mom when he was about 4 years old. He has learned to be loved and thrived through all the love given to him by Mom, Tamera, and others. Bless you Cammie, we will miss you.

I see that when we last met I was beginning my passion for Zentangles, and I actually did one this month. I did it right after September 11, as it seemed a fitting piece of art to commemorate that day.  Here 'tis:

I have lots of practice ahead of me, but I was pleased at how this one came out, being such an early attempt.

Here are a few other layouts I've done this month.  Click on the layout to see a larger copy.

This one was done using Silvia Romeo's La Vie en Douce kit and the add-on. We had such a wonderful day that birthday at Disney, and this shows what a hoot my friend Miriam is!

This one was with the same kit.  The picture was taken at the candy shop at Sea World. Rachel, Miriam, Bear and I went to "Dinner with Shamu" to celebrate my 50th birthday...sadly, David had to work.

This was also created with La Vie en Douce and add-on by Silvia Romeo. It is a signature block that I use in my digital scrapbook forums, and also goes out at the end of all my emails. I just love this, makes me hungry every time I see it...LOL!

I did this one for a challenge at SBG by Microferk Designs.  The storyboard template was a freebie from her, and the kit I used is called "Glorious."  The pictures are from a photoshoot that I did with Rachel and Mary at the Ritz Carlton - we had such fun!

This is another Silvia Romeo kit called "Summer Fun." The picture of Eric is from a photoshoot that we did with Barbara Herrera as photographer many years ago. I love this picture of him!

This is a sneak peek for a kit that DoinDigital will be releasing soon!  The picture is of my dear friends Miriam and Bear on Halloween a few years back. Although you can't see it here, I made Mim's Alice dress, and Mim made Bear's Mad Hatter costume - they looked amazing!

I  have a few others in the works that I will post later!

On the book front, I am in the middle of reading several series.  One is by Tess Gerritsen.  Her main characters are detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles. She is a wonderful writer and just pulls me right in to her stories. There is a spin-off TV series called Rizzoli and Isles - I think maybe it's on Fox? I watched it once, but it just wasn't as good as the books.

Next is a series by Sarah Paretsky about private investigator VI Warshawski. She is also a very good writer, and I really like VI and her cohorts a lot!

I am re-reading Lisa Scottoline's legal thriller series - she is a GREAT writer in this genre, although she has a couple of other books that I'm not really thrilled with.  Her characters are wonderful, you can't help but fall in love with them.

My friend Miss Behaving led me to Jim Butcher's series about wizard detective Harry Dresden of the Dresden File series. These are lots of fun, a great take on the supernatural, very entertaining.

Last but not least is Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse series. Sookie is a human who can hear other humans' thoughts, and she is a hoot of a character.  Her life is filled with vampires and werewolves, and the series is so fun - I always can't wait to read the next one!

So most of these books I can check out free from my library as E-Pub books and read on my computer. There are a few that are not formatted for E-Pub that I've had to order from my library though. The library has  just set up downloads for the Kindle - I don't have one currently, but am going to try it out with Rachel's to see how it works.

Mom is here on a 3-week visit (with 12 days left to go, YAY!), and I got to play with the camera on her Iphone 4 and Instagram, and I am in LOVE!  Not sure how to upload them to here, I'll do that later.  There is speculation that the next Iphone is going to be announced on October 4, and also that Sprint will become a carrier for the Iphone.  I've been waiting and waiting for this, since we are Sprint subscribers and David would like us to stay with Sprint.  It is also rumored that the new phones will go on sale next Friday, October 7 - keep your fingers crossed!

Okay, that's all for September, hopefully this long post will help to make up for my full month's absence!

Peace and love to everyone!
